Notes

3nd June 2023

Seeing index: 3/1 - 4/2
Jet stream: Good - 5m/s

    Integration time:
     OSC 55 X 120s (110m)
    * Total: 1h50m

The atmospheric conditions are still making it hard to isolate issues with tracking/guiding/seeing/transparency. The low jet stream speed seems to have improved things but the poor seeing still caused nearly half the frames to be discarded due to eccentricity.

2nd June 2023

Seeing index: 4/3
Jet stream: Average - 11m/s

This evening proved to be almost a total write-off even though it was clear. The seeing was terrible which badly affected the guiding and this in turn rendered the long focal length very susceptible to distorted stars. It may not be worth re-running the image process to add just eight good frames.

    Integration time:
     OSC 8 X 120s (16m)
    * Total: 0h16m

29th May 2023 Abandoned the Newtonian in favour of the classical cassegrain which, while much slower, has greater magnification.

Seeing index: not recorded
Jet stream: not recorded

    Integration time:
     OSC 76 X 120s (152m)
    * Total: 2h32m

27th May 2023

Seeing index: 5/4
Jet stream: Average

    Integration time:
    * OSC 95 X 120s (190m)
    * Total: 3h10m
